Hi, I’m Sarah, an artist, volunteer, and soon-to-be full-time student with big dreams of making a difference. Recently, I received life-changing news: my doctor is 80% certain I have renal cell carcinoma. While this diagnosis is challenging, I’m determined to move forward with hope and purpose.
The Plan:
After exploring my options, I chose surgery to remove the cysts entirely. It’s a proactive step to ensure my best chance of recovery, and the procedure is scheduled for July. I’m hopeful this won’t disrupt my studies as I begin pursuing a degree in June—a stepping stone toward my dream of teaching art to children and starting innovative programs, like a film class for deaf kids.
Why I Need Your Help:
Balancing my health, education, and financial needs is overwhelming. Because of my health, I’m unable to work while attending school full-time. Though I’m applying for scholarships and grants to cover living expenses, most won’t provide funds until later in the year. That’s why I’m reaching out for support.
