Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, but also with hope and determination. Many of you know Sarah Bromberek, our esteemed colleague and the Supervisor of Practice Operations in the Endocrinology department at Duly Health and Care. Sarah has been an integral part of our team since December 2010, starting as a receptionist and steadily climbing the ranks through her dedication and hard work.

In March 2020, Sarah's life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 3, HER2+. Despite facing this daunting diagnosis, Sarah showed unparalleled strength and resilience. She underwent five grueling months of chemotherapy, immunotherapy infusions every three weeks, a double mastectomy, and 8 weeks of radiation treatment – all while continuing to work full-time.

Miraculously, by September 2020, Sarah was declared cancer-free and in remission. However, her challenges were far from over. In September 2022, tragedy struck again when her husband was deemed disabled, leaving Sarah as the sole provider for their family, which includes their two young sons, aged 4 and 8.

Despite the immense responsibilities she faced, Sarah soldiered on, even undergoing a total hysterectomy in November 2022. To make ends meet, she took on a second full-time job at Bath and Body Works in addition to her demanding position at Duly.

Yet, just when we thought Sarah had endured enough, in late December 2023, she began experiencing severe back pain, which ultimately led to a devastating diagnosis on March 21, 2024. Sarah was diagnosed with multifocal osseous metastases involving several vertebral bodies, a pathologic fracture, as well as metastases to her liver and the base of her skull.

Today, Sarah begins her first of 15 radiation treatments, followed by more rounds of chemotherapy. But as she faces this uphill battle once again, Sarah is burdened with overwhelming medical bills, past due mortgage and utility payments, and financial strain that threatens her family's stability.
