Every year, millions of women face domestic violence—often silently, often while feeling trapped. In the U.S., 1 in 3 women experience abuse from an intimate partner, and 99% of those cases include financial abuse. It’s one of the biggest reasons survivors feel unable to leave… and one of the hardest chains to break.
Sarah found the courage to break that chain.
She recently escaped an abusive relationship, taking her 3-year-old son with her and choosing safety over fear. Thanks to the Springfield Police Department and the local courts, they are finally physically safe — but starting over comes with its own mountains to climb.
Sarah left with nothing but her child and her determination, after her abuser drained their joint bank account which was the only money she had left for groceries. Today she is juggling single motherhood, healing from trauma, finishing her degree, and working as a low-paid intern so she can build a stable future. But the financial wreckage left behind — debt from the relationship, legal costs, and the basic expenses of rebuilding a life — is overwhelming. She is doing everything she can, but she is exhausted, stretched thin, and fighting every day just to breathe.
This is where your kindness can change everything.
Your support will give Sarah the stability she needs to keep going — to stay safe, stay strong, and continue building the future she and her son deserve. Even the smallest donation sends a powerful message:
You did the right thing. You are not alone. Your new life is possible.
If you’re able, please donate and help Sarah continue her brave path forward. Every contribution makes a real difference in their safety, healing, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Thank you for helping protect a mother and child as they rebuild their lives with dignity and courage.
