Support Sarah Zglr-Sntk(née Lian) in her fight with Leukemia

Hey all my name is Timothy Ziegler-Suantak. I am the lucky man who locked down the beautiful Sarah Ziegler-Suantak. We were married around seven months ago at the ages of twenty-three and twenty-two respectively, and are now facing a pretty significant challenge.

A little over a month ago Sarah found herself catching illness after illness feeling utterly defeated by her inability to catch a break. We eventually made our way to urgent care for what we thought was one of an ongoing list of consecutive ailments. Thanks to the wisdom of the doctor on call we proceeded to the emergency room where she was admitted due to severe anemia. After countless vials of blood drawn, a battery of tests and a hospital transfer we were given the painful news that Sarah was suffering from acute myeloid leukemia.

Sarah is a loving wife, caring friend and devoted daughter. She's always helping those around her and has a tendency to pay compliments to strangers as she passes by, brightening days wherever she goes. A few years back she served as her mother's primary caregiver as she recovered from the same form of cancer that Sarah now is dealing with. AML is a rare blood cancer that accounts for around one percent of all cancers and with no genetic similarities between the two cancers it is a terrible twist of fate that her family has to deal with two cases of it within five years.

After a hard month of chemo and recovery in the hospital Sarah has been able to come back home having completed the first step on her long journey to full health. She has been doing her best to stay in good spirits and hopes to continue as such, celebrating the little victories along the way. Sarah has innumerable phone calls and appointments ahead of her as we must extract and preserve eggs enabling us to have children in the future, while continuing to keep the cancer under control as we search for a donor for the necessary stem cell transplant.

Following the stem cell transplant there is a required hundred days of isolation for both of us as Sarah's immune system is built back up from the ground floor. During this time I will be unable to work consistently leaving us with little to no income. Any donations to this fund will be used to cover the costs of continued hospital visits and procedures, as well as daily living expenses especially for this period of isolation.

Every bit counts and every bit will be appreciated deeply. If you want to read day by day accounts of what happened and/or follow Sarah's progress you can check out her caring bridge profile here
