Support Sarah Mayfield: Days of Rest & Care

In July 2025, our lives and the lives of our dear friends and agents, Chris and Sarah Mayfield, changed in an instant. Chris suffered four strokes and a severe brain infection, spending two grueling months in the hospital fighting for his life. During that time, Sarah defined what it means to be "all in." She spent her days running their daycare, then drove to Nashville every single evening to be by Chris' side—staying until the early morning hours only to drive back and start the cycle over on minimal sleep.

Chris has been home since September, and while the road has been paved with "unknowns," we have so much to be grateful for. Thanks to Chris’ grit and Sarah's tireless care, Chris has made incredible strides: he has regained his voice, can communicate his thoughts and needs, and has regained physical strength. With Sarah’s help, he can transition from his bed to his wheelchair and feed himself. While these milestones are hard-fought victories, they have come at a steep physical cost.

The day before Chris' strokes, Sarah had surgery of her own. She never got her recovery period. Instead, she has spent months performing the heavy lifting required to help Chris move, all while her own body remains unhealed. She is quite literally sacrificing her own health to sustain his. These milestones are hard-fought victories, but the reality is that the "new normal" is exhausting. Insurance no longer covers in-home rehab or professional assistance, so Sarah is now the primary therapist, nurse, and caregiver 24/7, all while managing the house and their livelihood. Currently, Sarah is lucky to get five hours of interrupted sleep a night, managing every detail of Chris' daily life—details most of us take for granted.

Beyond the physical and financial toll, the Mayfield family is also navigating the beautiful, busy "launch" of their daughters' lives. Their youngest is preparing to graduate high school, and their oldest is engaged and planning a wedding. Sarah is balancing the role of full-time caregiver and provider with the role of a mother trying to be present for these once-in-a-lifetime moments. She is doing it all with very little sleep and even less time for herself.

Our goal is simple: we want to provide Sarah with a restorative weekend and additional days of professional in-home help. This fund will cover the cost of a qualified caregiver to step in for several days, giving Sarah the chance to rest and recharge as needed. By spreading out these days of support, Sarah can stay fresh and continue caring for Chris and their family with renewed energy. While she is recharging, Chris will have a professional caregiver to ensure he continues to get the care he needs. Sarah has spent nearly a year giving everything she has to Chris' recovery. Now, we would like to give a little bit back to her.

If you’ve spent any time in our office or attended a training event, you know the Mayfields. Chris lifts spirits with his smile, and Sarah’s dedication is unmatched. As their family faces recovery and milestone moments for their daughters, your donation gives Sarah the gift of rest and time. Please consider donating and sharing this page to show the Mayfields that their kindness is coming back to them when they need it most.
