We are raising funds to support the one and only Sarah Adams, an incredible friend, community member, and mental health therapist who is weathering a sudden medical emergency. Sarah and her partner, Sam are some of the most caring and generous people I know, and that's saying something because I know great folks!

Sarah was diagnosed with a rare type of blood cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and is hospitalized at OHSU to receive treatment. She'll be there for 3-5 weeks and will be most likely undergoing a bone marrow transplant later in the year.

As a therapist in private practice, Sarah is self-employed which limits her options for receiving pay while she is out of work - things like Paid Leave Oregon and FMLA don't always apply in these sorts of scenarios. Sarah could be out of work for 3-6 months, or longer, and Sam will also be off work for up to 12 weeks to be with Sarah through this process.

They could really use our help and with some of the specifics of what it will be like for Sarah even when she's released from the hospital, the most helpful support is going to be financial contributions so they can use the funds for whatever is necessary - food, gas, running their household, all the things.
