On September 26, 2024, disaster struck throughout the southeast due to Hurricane Helene.

My dear friend, Sarah Margaret, and my goddaughter, her 5-year-old daughter, Aurora, were among those affected. Their home in South Tampa, near Interbay, has been completely destroyed, and unfortunately, their insurance does not cover flood-related losses in their area.

Sarah Margaret and Aurora were able to evacuate mid-hurricane with their beloved pets. Unfortunately, they lost nearly all of their belongings, including furniture, clothing, and toys. While they are grateful to be safe, the emotional and financial burden of starting over is overwhelming.

As a single parent facing health challenges, Sarah Margaret was unable to work during this time and has no savings to rely on.

My best friend and her daughter urgently need support, not only to navigate the immediate aftermath, but also to secure temporary housing and replace essential items such as clothing, toys and books for Aurora, and personal care products.
