Hi, I’m Daisy Hoffmann. I’m coming to the community to ask for help with cremation costs for my cousin, Sara Wilkins. Sara grew up in the Joliet community and made many close friends while she was there. She didn’t have the best role models growing up. She watched both her parents succumb to the same illness she has. As a family we have tried to help her over the years. But we learned that you can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped. She is currently in hospice care and is now on comfort measures. She does not have much time left. She has end-stage liver disease. There was no end-of-life plan in place, and now her daughter is scrambling, trying to find ways to honor her mother while raising two young children and maintaining a full-time job. Sara does not have a support group around her. The last few years were very hard for her and those close to her. If anyone could help out and relieve the financial burden that this emotional situation has caused, it would be such a blessing to this family. All the funds will be used for Sara’s end-of-life plan.
