Support Sara Studio (Horst) during her Recovery

While working around the house on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Sara Studio suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. In the form of a miracle, she regained consciousness and contacted her sister. She made it to the hospital moments before entering cardiac arrest and was immediately Life-Flighted to a Neurological Intensive Care Unit in Cleveland, Ohio.

The initial aneurysm was repaired, and the ICU medical staff is keeping a close eye on her for at least three weeks after the initial event because of the high risk of stroke and seizure. She is experiencing some good days (which include brief conversations with family) and some less-good days where she may not even open her eyes. In periods of consciousness, and in typical fashion, she is more concerned about her family and work than she is about herself.

Unfortunately, she will be unable to work during the inevitably long and challenging road to recovery. We hope to ease her mind during this time and let her focus on her health by raising money to cover her general living expenses. She’s spent most of her life selflessly caring for everyone around her and we hope to return the favor in this time of need.

How the funds will be used: Sara's monthly expenses (e.g., mortgage, utilities, groceries, transportation, etc.) are approximately $2,000. She will be out of work and have no income for an initially estimated duration of one year. Therefore, the current goal of this fundraiser is $24,000.
