Dear friends, family, and community of our sweet Sara (AKA Screamieweemie),

Thank you for being here. We are organizing this fundraiser to share news about Sara Sremac’s recent medical challenges and to bring her community together to support her as she recovers from Stage 3A colon cancer.

Since February 2025, Sara has been battling increasingly severe digestive issues and debilitating pain, leading to multiple hospitalizations, extensive testing, and consultations with various specialists. For months, she was misdiagnosed and dismissed, left without answers while her pain continued to escalate. While on a road trip, Sara was forced to admit herself to a hospital in Pittsburgh, where a CT scan finally revealed a 6 cm tumor in her colon that had been obstructing her digestive tract. She underwent emergency surgery on September 14th, 2025, to remove the mass, and then spent two weeks in recovery. She is now with her family in Boston and preparing to begin a six-month course of chemotherapy at Massachusetts General Hospital starting October 22nd, 2025. After chemotherapy, she will begin a yearlong clinical trial to closely monitor for any signs of recurrence.

Sara is healing well from her surgery and is feeling grateful and optimistic despite all the hardship she is going through. However, she needs help to get through this treatment period as it presents a significant financial burden for her. As a self-employed tattoo artist and painter, Sara will be out of work for the foreseeable future and does not receive the benefits of disability support from an employer.

The community support Sara has received has already been so felt and important in getting her through this difficult time. This campaign also aims to notify Sara’s community of her situation in the hopes that, beyond financial help, she can find support by being connected spiritually and energetically, which has been and will be an equal contribution to her healing journey.

Our fundraising goal of $15,000 will significantly help cover Sara’s care and expenses as she receives treatment and heals:

*Supportive Care (integrative oncology consults, acupuncture, vitamins)

*Living Costs While Not Working (rent, utilities, groceries)
