Myself and several friends are raising money for our dear friend and coworker, Sara Miller, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She wears many hats in her full life. She is a devoted wife to her husband Stephen. She is an incredible mother to three beautiful children, one college student and two heading that way in a few years. To us, she is an incredibly passionate educator, coworker and friend. Sara teaches 1st Grade Humanities and builds the sweetest relationships with all of her 130 kids. They love her and she loves them. While this diagnosis, at the young age of 50, is devastating, she is, in true Sara form, facing it head on and fighting. She is not ready for her story to be over.

While her emotional support system is strong and deep, their financial resources are limited….as are most people’s when battling this awful disease. While insurance is a godsend, there are certain medications and treatments not covered and quite costly. In addition, money will be needed just to continue being able to provide necessities for the family.

Treatments will start soon; at which time she will need the most support. Any donations will go to help for everything from medications and treatments, to paying bills and providing for the family.

Even if you don’t know Sara, but know someone who knows her, please donate what you can, or at least share this story. There are so many wonderful people out there who care about others and just want to help, regardless of familiarity.
