Support Sara & Her Family While Veteran Zac Battles PTSD

Donation protected
Our dear friend Zac, a proud veteran who served our country in Iraq, is currently undergoing intensive in-patient treatment for PTSD. This brave step is the beginning of a long journey towards healing for him and his entire family.

Back home, Zac's wife, Sara, is holding down the fort as a stay-at-home mom to their two precious little ones, a 20-month-old and a 2-month-old. As you can imagine, managing the household and caring for two young babies while her husband is focused on his recovery presents significant challenges, both emotionally and financially.

We are launching this GoFundMe to rally around Sara and provide her with the crucial financial support she needs during this difficult time. The funds raised will directly help cover their essential bills, ensure there are groceries on the table, and contribute to the ongoing costs of Zac's vital treatment. This support will allow Sara to focus on her children and be there for Zac as he progresses through therapy.

Many of you know that Veterans Day holds a special significance for Zac & Sara. Each year, she shares a powerful message, and we want to include it here as it speaks volumes about the sacrifices made by our veterans:

"While banks, schools and post offices may be closed, Veterans don't get the day off to reflect on their service. There are men & women actively fighting for the freedom to have these days off every day.

If I can beg one thing of you: Check on your Veteran friends. Ask how they're doing. Don't pry, just offer to be there. Lend an ear. Show support && be aware.

There could be a Veteran in the room sensitive to loud sounds, who may appreciate a warning at the simple pop of a firecracker or champagne cork. Respect those small things that affect your Veteran friends daily.

"A veteran, whether active duty, discharged, retired or reserve- is someone who at one point in their life wrote a blank check to The United States of America for an amount of 'up to and including' his/her life."

If I can teach you one thing about Veterans Day is that it’s not a superficial holiday — and not all wounds are superficial.

These men & women don’t just potentially give their lives for 4, 8, 20 years, often they give far beyond that in the scars, both mental and physical that they carry with them for life. These scars meet their family, friends & significant others. They go to their civilian jobs with them. They meet their children. They become a piece of the new them. So when you meet a veteran, truly thank them. Much of the sacrifice you’re thanking them for, can’t be seen.

I love you Zac Smith. I’m proud of you. I am humbled by you. & I can’t wait till you’re one of those “old” veterans rockin right beside me. So You are my hero. ❤️”

Let's come together as a community, friends, and family to support Sara, Zac, and their beautiful family during this challenging chapter. Your generosity, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in their lives, allowing Sara to focus on her family and Zac's healing journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support.
