Support Sara and Brian's Preemie Miracle

I met Sara when she was recommended to us for a Doggy Daycare/Boarding for our sweet pup! Sara was just what we needed for our sweet girl.

Sara is the owner of Backwoods K-9 Boarding and Daycare, which she runs out of her home. Her husband, Brian, worked outside of the home and has supported her dreams of opening this business and being the sole provider at points. In the last two years, this couple has started a business, one that this rural area needed. Within the last year, Sara and Brian have married, lost her mother, and learned that they were expecting. Not only were they expecting, but they found out they were expecting a girl. Why does this matter, you ask? Because just before Sara's mom passed, she said Sara was having a girl. Sara was very early and did not know prior to her mom passing what she was having. Their precious girl, Sophia Jean, was due March 28th, 2025. Sara and Brian were planning and saving all that they could to prepare due to Sara being the owner and operator of her business, which meant they would not have her income and would be solely relying on Brian's while she was on "maternity leave" recovering.

On Monday, December 16th, Sara went for a normal check-up only to learn she had extremely high blood pressure. She was told to go to Newark Wayne Labor and Delivery to be monitored. Sara was then transferred to Strong Memorial as Sophia needed to be delivered due to complications with Sara's blood pressure. At just 25 weeks, on December 17th, 2024, at 1:48 PM, Miss Sophia Jean was delivered via emergency C-section weighing 1 lb 2 oz. Sophia was born at 25 weeks, but she is so strong and determined already as she came out punching and kicking! We are so thankful for the doctors at Newark Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital where she was delivered. She will be in NICU until March, so this will be a very long journey. I have set up this GoFundMe for Sara and Brian Hargarther Jr. as they both currently are out of work focusing on Sara's recovery and Sophia. They were preparing to be able to live off one income in March, but now with the unexpected turn of events, they are both without income. This little family is truly in need of a Christmas miracle and would appreciate any and all donations, big or small.
