Our family has been devastated by the shocking the discovery that my niece Saoibh has a large tumour in her spinal canal.
Saoibh is 9 years of age and since the age of 3 has had a history of back pains which was originally thought to be as a result of scoliosis.
In recent months she has experienced severe pain. An MRI scan revealed that she has a large tumour in her spinal canal that requires urgent surgery to remove.
She will be in Dublin for months while she receives rehabilitation after her surgery and has a long road to recovery.
Anyone who knows Saoibh knows that she is a happy and caring little girl. She loves singing dancing and drama and no matter how sick she’s been over the past few months she always has a smile on her face.
At this stage we don’t know what lies ahead for Saoibh or how long her recovery will take.
We have started this go fund me account to ease the financial burden on Saoibhs parents so they can focus on her recovery as they have both had to take leave from their careers.
The funds raised from this emergency go fund me page will go to my brother Kenneth Lonergan and his wife Orla Lonergan to help cover the costs of travel, accomodation, and their monthly bills over the next few months.
