Santos Alvarado, my mom's husband & loved member of our family, has been facing a series of serious health challenges over the past few weeks. It all began when he started experiencing pain in his abdominal area and was taken to the ER on February 26th. There, doctors discovered he had suffered a mild heart attack and was battling a severe infection that had entered his bloodstream. After spending several days in the hospital, Santos was released but had to return every day for two weeks to receive antibiotic infusions to clear the infection. Thankfully, the infection was eventually cleared, but his health struggles didn’t end there.

Despite the treatment, Santos continued to experience pain, weakness, and ongoing ups and downs that led to two more ER visits. Most recently, on Saturday, April 4th, he was admitted to the hospital again with another infection. While this one was caught early, Santos remains weak and has almost no appetite. Doctors are still running tests and consulting with specialists to get to the root of his health issues. Meanwhile, the medical bills are starting to pile up, and the pressure of managing daily expenses alongside these mounting costs is becoming overwhelming. The added stress only makes recovery more difficult for Santos and my mom.
