Urgent Call for Solidarity – Tragedy at Jet Set Nightclub, Santo Domingo
My husband family is related to the Javier family,
Me and him will be flying out there this month to lift up Mirian Javier Reynoso and her daughter Shakira Echavarría that died the same day. I will be visiting and depositing the funds to the family.
Dear friends,
With deep sorrow and heartbreak, we share the devastating news of the tragedy that unfolded at the iconic Jet Set Nightclub in Santo Domingo. What was meant to be a night of joy became one of the darkest moments in our city’s history.
As of now, 113 lives have been lost, including the beloved Dominican merengue singer Rubby Pérez, a legend of our culture and music. Hundreds more have been injured—many in critical condition—requiring emergency surgeries, intensive care, and long-term medical support.
This tragedy has shattered families, left children without parents, and plunged an entire community into mourning.
In response, we have launched an official fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to:
• Cover emergency medical expenses for survivors
• Help families with funeral and burial costs
• Provide financial assistance to those who have lost everything
Now is the time to stand together. Every donation, no matter the size, brings hope and healing.
We also ask you to share this message widely, so the world can see that in moments of sorrow, Santo Domingo stands strong—united by compassion, love, and humanity.
Thank you for your generosity, your kindness, and your heart.
My husband David will be handling the funds
With deep gratitude,
Ashley Lacross
