Santiago “Santi” Morales is a quiet, hardworking 28-year-old who has always put his family first. After returning to the United States seven years ago, Santi dedicated himself to supporting his loved ones back home. Earlier this year, his life changed dramatically when he began feeling unwell and was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. What started as pneumonia quickly escalated to multiple hospitalizations, surgeries for blood clots, and now, a long road of chemotherapy and recovery. Santi has been unable to work since his illness began, and the financial strain has been overwhelming. He was the main provider for his family, and now faces mounting medical bills, personal expenses, and the uncertainty of when he’ll be able to return home.

Santi’s parents, who live outside the United States, are applying for humanitarian visas to be by his side. The costs of passport and visa fees, travel, and lodging in the Bay Area are significant, especially as Santi’s condition remains critical and his release date from the hospital is unknown.
