On April 9th, what should have been a relaxing birthday weekend getaway with friends turned into a devastating nightmare that has carried into months of isolation, depression, and anxiety.

On this evening, Santiago was whisked away by Miami police and charged with an erroneous crime. Fortunately, his defense attorney was able to have the case dismissed. However, due to his immigration status, ICE collected him and has since transferred him to the infamous detention center known as Krome. He has been subject to sleeping on cold floors, eating abysmal food, lacking sleep, and missing important medicine.

Fortunately, Santiago had worked tirelessly to afford both a defense attorney and now an immigration attorney. However, our savings are starting to dwindle, and his immigration costs are piling up, with new costs arising from the immigration attorney.
