My name is Santi. I am a queer, trans, Boricua person with big dreams of offering 5NP Acupuncture for free/low cost to community members in Portland, Oregon. I currently live paycheck to paycheck working in landscaping & as a front desk associate for a wellness center.

I am hoping to raise $350 by April 25th to attend the first available 5NP trainings at Working Class Acupuncture.

Below is the breakdown of cost of training, certification, and registration + lost income.
  • 2-day training & certification: $250
  • 5NP Technician Registration : $100
  • Missing two days of work: $500

My initial goal of $350 is to cover the cost of training, certification & registration. If I can reach this initial goal, I will raise my goal to help cover costs of missing work.

5NP is an acu treatment focusing on 5 acupoints on the ear. It was introduced to the US by members of the Black Panthers & Young Lords in the 60s/70s to treat opiate addiction and support folks through detox. These 5 points help treat issues like chronic stress, PTSD/emotional trauma, and addiction.

I feel called to follow in the footsteps of my Boricua Revolutionary Ancestors/Elders & be trained up in this incredibly accessible, impactful, healing modality.

Below is a documentary called Dope is Death that discusses the social justice context in which the 5-Needle Protocol was developed.

The heading of this fundraiser is a video of what 5NP integrated into community healing spaces can look like by the people in my homeland of Borikén.
