We are Karina and Brian Puga, lifelong residents of Sanger, California. Brian recently retired after 25 years of service with the Sanger Fire Department, and I concluded a rewarding career as a special education teacher. Having both been raised in Sanger, we were fortunate to raise our children in Sanger Unified. Our son is a graduate of Sanger High School, and our daughter is currently attending Sanger West, with the Class of 2028. With our professional chapters behind us, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in new ways, and to invest our time and energy back into the schools and programs that shaped our family.

Our newest endeavor is establishing the Sanger West Wrestling Booster Club. Wrestling has long been close to Brian’s heart, and it now holds even greater significance as we watch our daughter pursue the sport. Over the past year, we have had the privilege of working with Head Coach Brigdon and Assistant Coach Penn, whose leadership extends well beyond the mat. They emphasize academics, character, and resilience, helping both new and experienced wrestlers grow as student-athletes and as individuals. Wrestling is uniquely demanding, pitting each athlete against their own limits, and it is this challenge that teaches perseverance, accountability, and lifelong skills.

To formally launch the booster club, we must first meet two foundational requirements: securing insurance ($265) and obtaining an IRS Determination Letter ($275). These initial steps will allow us to provide structured support, resources, and opportunities for our athletes and coaches. With your partnership, we can build a strong foundation for Sanger West Wrestling, ensuring its growth, success, and impact for years to come.

Together, we can empower our student-athletes, strengthen our program, and inspire excellence both on and off the mat.
