My name is Missie and my sister and I are making this GoFundMe on behalf of my parents, Sandy and Wade.

I would like to start this off by thanking you for the outpour of messages and phone calls filled with prayers and support.

My mom, while leaving her new job on Tuesday night, Nov 12th, was hit by a drunk driver, causing the van to flip, and she was ejected from the vehicle. My mom underwent emergency surgery for her head lacerations and is currently stable in the ICU.

She will undoubtedly have a long healing journey and will most likely not be able to work while healing from the multiple fractures that were sustained.

At the time of the accident, my mom was driving their only vehicle and was also the main breadwinner for the family. My dad, who is on disability, has been in the VA hospital for 8 days due to a foot infection related to diabetes.

Seeing as both my sister and I live out of state, we realize that although we can't physically help them, what they do need help with is being able to cover their rent for the next few months and help getting a new vehicle. Any extra funds raised will go to medical bills.

My family and I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support and kindness. Your contribution will literally help them keep their home and jobs while allowing them the time to heal and rest with peace of mind.
