Sandy has spent her life caring for others and now it’s our turn to care for her. She is the heart of her family: a devoted mom, grandmother, sister,  and friend whose kindness has touched everyone she meets. For years, she’s poured her love into others, especially the children she’s taught as a preschool teacher, guiding them with patience, warmth, and her bright, gentle smile.

A few weeks ago, Sandy began experiencing stomach pain she thought was from her new workout routine. When it didn’t go away, she went to the hospital — and her world was turned upside down. Sandy was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer, which has already spread to two major arteries, causing intense pain and making surgery nearly impossible, for now. This week, doctors found a shadow on her liver tested positive for cancer.

Despite the devastating news, Sandy remains strong and hopeful. Surrounded by her loving family and friends, she continues to fight with courage, grace, and her unwavering belief that God has a plan, even in the hardest of times.

Sandy is receiving specialized care at Yale New Haven Hospital, where her medical team is doing everything possible to give her the best chance at healing. The cost of ongoing treatments, daily medications, and travel is overwhelming, and Sandy will be out of work while undergoing treatment. Her family is doing their best to support her while managing the emotional and financial strain.
