HELP SUPPORT SANDY AND JERRY ZANDLO as they are experiencing unusual medical bills.
In November of 2024, Jerry had emergency back surgery. In June 2025, he had open-heart surgery. In October 2025, he had a second back surgery and may need another back surgery to get feelings back into his legs.
In October 2025, Sandy went to the ER for a swollen leg. She was admitted to the hospital on Friday, and on Sunday they sent her home with some meds. That Monday, Jerry had his 2nd back surgery, and Sandy ended up back in the hospital due to pain. After further testing, Sandy was told she has stage 4 cancer. Even though the cancer is in her colon and bones, the doctors tell her that even though it isn't curable, it is manageable. Since her leg is still twice the size it should be, she has been told she should get a full leg Velcro wrap that insurance won't cover.
Sandy has not been home since October and has been spending time going back and forth between the hospital and transitional care. (It is out of pocket for transitional care since insurance only covered 30 days.) Thus, she's had to give up her newspaper delivery routes. Jerry is on leave from work and spends his time with Sandy. Being that he has a hard time getting around, they have had to put their 4 dogs into boarding.
With your generous donation, funds will be used to help pay the costs that insurance doesn't cover.
