Hi all!

I am creating this GoFundMe for my mom/sister. My sister Sandra has been in the hospital for the last 13 days, with multiple days being spent in the ICU. She was brought to the ER with aspiration pneumonia, something she has been battling for a few years now, as well as being septic. Since being in the hospital, she has had a collapsed lung, spent most days on constant oxygen and blood pressure medication (neither of which she is on at home), has been receiving IV antibiotics, and is now also on TPN due to not being able to receive any feedings through her feeding tube because she immediately aspirates. We have been trying to get her transferred to the ICU at Cleveland Clinic where she can receive better care and a surgery to try to fix the aspiration problem. Unfortunately, without better medical intervention, it is unlikely that she will be able to be at home any time soon.

Not only has this been a highly taxing situation mentally for our family, but also a financial one. My mom is her primary caretaker and has to stay with her in the hospital every day and night due to her not being able to be left alone and also not being able to speak for herself. This means that for the last 13 days, and for the foreseeable future, my mom will not have any income.

Unfortunately, the world doesn’t stop when you go through hard times, and neither do bills. There is not much I can do to help this situation any, so I am asking for the help of our friends and family, so this hardship is lessened. Genuinely, any amount helps and is deeply appreciated ♥️
