UPDATE: Thank you to all who have donated! Sandra has passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on June 11, 2025. Any additional donations will go to catching up her bills to ensure her 18 year old daughter does not start her adulthood in debt.

I am starting this GoFundMe to help my sister, Sandra Stewart, and her daughter continue to pay their bills during the most difficult time of their lives.

Sandra is 44 years old and starting in January she began having seizures and was rushed to the hospital. The CT scan of her head showed multiple lesions, and she was transferred to a second hospital where she underwent a craniotomy and tumor resection to perform a biopsy in attempts to find out what the lesions are. This biopsy came back inconclusive.

In March, she experienced partial loss of vision, and her daughter attempted to drive her to the hospital. She seized on the way, and EMS came and took her to the closest hospital. She was again transferred to a different hospital where the CT scans showed her lesions have grown, and now there are more of them. She underwent a second craniotomy and tumor resection. This biopsy showed she has a rare type of brain cancer called angiosarcoma.

She has now undergone radiation, and her hair has begun to fall out. She is scheduled for a repeat MRI next week and will begin every two-week palliative immunotherapy the second week of May. She is unable to work to continue to pay their bills. Her daughter is still in high school during her senior year and needs to focus on caring for her mom and graduating high school.
