Hi everyone, my name is Ricardo Murillo. One year ago, on July 6, 2024, our lives changed forever. My mom, who had been feeling unusually tired and started noticing unexplained bruising, went through a series of tests and hospital visits.

On July 15, 2024, we received the devastating news. She was diagnosed with leukemia. This past year has been a battle: physically, emotionally, and financially.

Watching someone you love fight for their life is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Yet through it all, my mom has remained strong, graceful, and selfless, the same way she’s always been for everyone else. My mom is the kind of person who lights up every room with her kindness. She’s spent her life putting others first, giving even when she had little to give. She’s never been one to ask for help.

Now more than ever, she truly needs it.

Since losing her car, she’s been staying with my sister in Houston to stay close to her doctors and chemotherapy treatments. The road ahead is long, and the cost of her care, on top of living expenses, has become overwhelming. She’s unable to work as she focuses on healing.

As her son, I’m doing all I can to support her. But I can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m here humbly asking for your support.
