Everyday nearly 2 dozen veterans die by suicide. If we include 'diseases of despair' i.e. drug and alcohol related deaths, perhaps as many as twice that amount die on a daily basis.
Personally, I've lost as many friends to suicide as combat. Among military veterans this is not unique or unusual; most of us know just as many veterans who have taken their own life as have had their life taken in combat.
Many of these veterans lack the sense of purpose or emotional support to successfully reintegrate into their communities. We can change that.
The Sanctuary on the Hill is a project with a mission to provide a sense of purpose and meaning to our military veterans. We are building a 90 acre campus to provide a place of healing and growth for veterans.
To do this, we need your support. No amount is too small and even non-monetary contributions such as sharing our vision with others is greatly appreciated.
