Hi, thanks so much for checking out my fundraiser! I'm an English teacher at San Leandro High School. I would love to get a class set of the novel Shut Up, This is Serious by Carolina Ixta. Ms. Ixta is an alumna of San Leandro High, and has written a fantastic novel in part based on her experiences at the school and growing up in Oakland. I am excited to provide my students with the opportunity to study this novel and see their own life experience and that of their classmates reflected in such a real and powerful way.
