I, Rodney Carter, am taking the initiative of attempting to raise funds for my brother, who was just called for a kidney transplant. I am also in the same situation as my brother; however, I am still working to be placed on the transplant list. He and I have been on dialysis for more than 7 years. Finally, my brother, Samuel Kelly, a Staten Island, NY resident, was called for his transplant just last night, June 15, 2025, to Mount Sinai Hospital, NY.

Unfortunately, there are costs associated with the transplant procedure, upwards of $5000 for out-of-pocket expenses. The call for the transplant is sudden and presents the need to reach out for financial support, as the lack of finances can cause a setback. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and one that may not come around for some time if not taken advantage of immediately.

I humbly appeal to the general public with a request for financial assistance in this dire yet exciting development, which will enable my brother to have a fresh start in life with a new kidney.

I would like to inform the public that a minimum of $5.00 can be donated for this cause. I would like to everyone in advance for your consideration.
