My name is Samuel Belay. I am the older brother of Lemlem.

Let me tell you just a little about my sister. Lemlem is a very bright, strong and hard working person. When American Embassy opened in Eritrea, she was one of the first people that opened the Embassy. Nine months ago she was diagnosed with stage three gum cancer. She left Eritrea for medical care in Türkiye. She has finished six chemotherapy. She has been in Istanbul since April 2024. She has good and bad days. But after her surgery, she can't talk or use her mouth. We don't know if she is in pain or not because she keeps everything to herself. She gets everything through her nose only. Throughout the last seven and half months, I have been shuttling between Istanbul and USA. I am on the road making sure she is okay, coming back to see my daughter, and trying to run my personal business.

Now, I am at a point that I can't do it all by myself. Medical bills never end, and they're piling up. I don't know for how many more months she will be in this situation but I will never stop fighting for my sister until she recovers and cured. My sister needs whatever financial help she can get from my family, my community, and Samaritans to cover her growing medical expenses.

ስመይ ሳሙኤል በላይ ይበሃል። ዓቢይ ሓዋ ንለምለም። ኣመሪካ ኣብ ኤርትራ ኤምባሲ ክትከፍት ከላ፡ ለምለም ሓፍተይ ሓንቲ ካብቶም ቀዳሞት ተዋሳእቲ ኣብ ምኽፋት'ቲ ኤምባሲ እያ ኔራ። ለምለም ሓፍተይ፡ ጻዕራም፡ ትኩርቲ፡ ተባዕን ጽንዕትን እያ። ቅድሚ ኣስታት ትሸዓት ወርሒ ኣቢሉ፡ ናይ ግርጻን መንሽሮ ከምዘለዋ ተሓቢርዋ። ካብ ኤርትራ ንሕክምና ኣብ ወርሒ ሚያዝያ 2024 ናብ ተርኪ ኢስታንፑል ብምዃድ፡ ክሳብ ሕጂ ሽድሽተ ኪሞተራፒ ጌራ ኣላ። ካብ ትሓምም ጀሚራ፡ ብተዛማዲ ደሓንን ሕማቕን ህሞታት ኔርዋ። መጥባሕቲ ካብ ትገብር ግና ኣፋ ተለኪታ። ብዘይካ'ቲ ኩሉ ነገር ዝኣቱ ብኣፈንጫኣ ጥራይ ምዃኑ፡ ኩሉ ንውሽጣ ስለትገብሮ፡ ተወሳኺ ቃንዛ ኣለዋ'ዶ የብላን ንምፍላጥ የሸግር። ሓያል ተጸዋርነት ኣለዋ።

ካብን ናብን ሓፍተይ ምምልላስ፡ ሓዳረይ ኣብ ምእላይ፡ ስርሐይ ኣብ ምክትታል ዝከኣለኒ ይገብር ኣለኹ። እቲ ናይ ሕክምና ወጻኢ ግና እንዳበዝሐ ይኸይድ ኣሎ። ክንደይ መጥባሕትን ኪሞን ከምዝተርፋ ኩነታት'ዩ ዝውስኖ ዘሎ። ብኡ መጠን ድማ ናይ ሕክምና ወጻኢ ይዓርግ ኣሎ። ንሓፍተይ ኩሉ ነገር ኣብ ምግባር ድሕር ኣይብልን። ሕጂ ግና፡ ለምለም ሓፍተይ ካብ ኩሉ ቤተሰብ፡ ሓው-ሓፍቲ፡ ማሕበረ ኮምን ሰናይ ዝምነዩ ውልቀሰባትን ናይ ሕክምና ወጻኢ መሸፈኒ ዝኸውን ፋይናንሳዊ ሓገዝ የድልያ ኣሎ።

ንእሽቶ ሓገዝ ዝበሃል የለን። ናይ ኩሉ እኩብ ፋይናንሳዊ ሓገዝ፡ ለምለም ሓፍተይ ንምድሓን ወሳኒ ተራ ስለዘለዎ ኩሉ ከከም ዓቕሙ ክሕግዛ ብትሕትና ይሓትት። ንሰለቲ ኣበርክተኹምን/ኽንን ሓገዝኩምን/ክንን፡ ብስም ለምለም ሓፍተይ ካብ ልቢ የመስግን።
