Support Samson's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi folks, I really never thought I would be posting here. If you know me, hopefully you understand when I’m not teaching I spend the majority of my time with our two kids, and working to help displaced kittens.
I love helping the neighbors and community get their own cats spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Some of these cats are “TNR” (trap, neuter, return) and some of them get adopted to forever homes! Really all it takes is time and a little extra money and cat food!
With all this said the last 10 days have been really hard for one of our own fur babies. We have 6 at home and 2 yard tabbies.
Our Boss cat - Samson is six years old and has been treated at our vet for a UTI, that was $700 total, and he got better. However, the past week, he has gotten worse. Today he landed at WellPets and went into surgery this afternoon, he had a partial urethra blockage. The surgery was his only chance to survive this situation. Unfortunately the total bill is more than I expected, and on a teacher’s budget, it is hard to plan for things like this.
While I do not like asking for help.. here is a time I need to. It is not possible for Wellpets to take direct donation but Samson’s balance is $1,900, so I’m trying this platform. If you read our story .. please know that Samson is very loved ( particularly by my daughter) and his fur family. We will do our very best to help him recover and be healthy!
if you can donate any amount to help we are so grateful and will hope to return the favor someday.. Thanks for kindness and compassion! And enjoy the rock art our youngest made after spending 3 hours with me and Sam at the vet!
UPDATE:) thank you to those who have donated to help Sam with his recovery!! He is so important to our family, and very loved. Sadly his first surgery was unucsessful and he was still in pain. Our amazing Vet and friend at Gregg animal clinic (Dr. Harari) saw him 24 hours post-op and determined that he needed two actually have a chain of kidney stones removed. We are fortunate to have answers as to what has been causing his symptoms, and he came home 3 days after the second surgery. Sam is now on a prescription diet that he hates LOL, but we are thrilled to have him home. Since all this happened I just want to leave this up a little longer. The important part is that his story is seen and the two most important thinsg we learned were to first.. trust your vet and get the x-rays or ask if they have not been mentioned. The second is to monitor your kitties "junk food" intake. Treats are not bad, but make sure its quality. Temptations treats are not real food, and made Sam sick! Thanks for reading his story and all of your kindness...hug your kitties everyday!
