Hi, my name is Seth and I’m a dog dad to two wonderful doggies: Ripley, a Rottweiler, and Samantha (Sam), a pittie. I’ve had them both since they were pups, and they have stuck with me through some of the hardest times of my life. They are my whole world. Sam has always been a little closer to me than Ripley. She’s a little older, and we just bonded more. I lost my father a few years ago, and without her by my side, I don’t know what I would have done. I love them both dearly, but I guess you could say Sam is daddy’s girl.

About a week ago, after playing with her and her rolling around on her back, I noticed a swelling on one of her mammaries. I panicked and searched her over and found another mass on her leg. I booked an appointment with the vet and took her. The vet told me that one could potentially be cancer because of cell division from the biopsy they took. They said they would remove the mass from her mammary and asked about her foot. A few months ago, she got her nail caught in the carpet and tore it off. She didn’t seem like it bothered her, so I didn’t let it worry me too much, but the vet had asked about how it was growing, and I explained it had always grown differently than her other nails, and I think that’s why it got caught. The vet explained that a possible explanation is that there was another mass behind her nail, and it caused it to grow differently. Sam is 10, and she hasn’t slowed down very much at all, but I started to recall she has been whining a bit, and her appetite has been affected some. The vet advised that I get all three places removed and tests run on each. She gave us antibiotics to clear up a little infection in her foot from the damaged nail, and when she was finished with that, she suggested I call back and schedule her procedure. They gave me an estimate of what it would cost, and it is going to be around $2100 dollars for the procedure. I have a good job, and I’m very fortunate, but I don’t have much extra cash at the end of the month for other things. I’m going to see if any overtime will be available at work and possibly look into getting a second job to help cover the expenses and possible expenses after the procedure.

I’m very hesitant to ask for help in any way, but I love my animals dearly. I do not want to see them in pain or possibly get sick and me not be able to do anything about it. If you’ve ever met Sam, she is everyone’s best friend and absolutely loves company. I couldn’t imagine life without her. I apologize if this message isn’t grammatically correct or if it seems all over the place. To be honest, I’m in a very bad place emotionally because of this. I need my Sam to be ok. I plan on selling some things to help cover the cost, but I saw online that people had some success with online fundraising. So here I am, being vulnerable and asking if you could, please donate for her procedure. Anything left over I will donate to a local animal shelter. As you can see from what I’ve posted, she’s an amazing animal. She’s taught me so much. I hope I’ve captured everything, and I hope I’ve conveyed how much she means to me.
