Samuel Savage is a 21-year-old Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal man who grew up surrounded by family, culture, adventure, and love in Cairns, Bamaga, Weipa and Mossman. After receiving a scholarship to the St Peters Lutheran College, he moved to Brisbane to complete his last three years of high school. Sam then went on to receive multiple academic and leadership scholarships to study a Bachelor of Psychology at Bond University for the last three years and is due to graduate 2024.

Sam is an amazing young man who has a positive impact on everyone he meets. He is a kind and generous young man, who always brings laughter and joy to every conversation.

On the 28th of July, Sam was involved in a tragic accident that has left him in ICU, fighting for his life for the last 28 days. His parents have had to take time off work to fly down from Cooya Beach to be by his side. The medical costs and living away from home have been a struggle. Sam was making some progress, however, unfortunately, he has contracted an aggressive fungal infection.
