Support Sam’s Ectopic Pregnancy Medical Costs
Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family ❤️
I feel so extremely awkward doing this. I usually never ask for any form of help, but seeing that I needed to go to the hospital was essential to keep me alive and then of course knowing the damage this medical bill is going to be, I wanted to take a chance and ask for help. I feel so terrible asking now, especially since this is the holiday season; any and all donations are appreciated, and if you can’t, that’s also okay ❤️ Your love and support have been such a gift, and I cannot thank you all enough for being so kind during this traumatic time.
Here is my story:
On Tuesday, December 10th, I took a pregnancy test which came back positive. I went to Planned Parenthood that Friday, and they gave me a blood test and an ultrasound to find out how far along I was. Since they couldn’t find the embryo in my uterus, they said they would call me back tomorrow if there was anything they saw that seemed concerning. The next day (Saturday, the 14th of December), Planned Parenthood called me back and said my HCG levels were extremely high and I needed to go to the emergency room immediately. That same day, I went to UCI Medical, and after two blood tests and an ultrasound, they discovered that the embryo was stuck in my right fallopian tube, thus diagnosing me with an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies, if not caught early, are 100% fatal to the mother. They gave me two shots of Methotrexate that same day, two more on Tuesday, and my final doses on Friday. Since Methotrexate is a chemo drug and is extremely toxic, I had received a call to come back to the ER because my liver was having some concerning side effects from the medication. Another trip to the hospital on Saturday so they could give me an IV, and I was given Leucovorin to help with the side effects of chemo.
Thankfully my medical Bill was discounted but of course the amount I still owe is just extremely high for me to afford.
I thank you all for the support and generosity,
Sincerely,
Samantha
