Support Sammy’s Journey to Health and Happiness

This is Sammy. A stray Rottweiler mix found on 3/8/2026.

As I was walking my dogs at night, I noticed a dog in the shadows of my car. Once I got a closer look I noticed she was extremely malnourished, and injured. She would only take a couple of steps and then freeze for 10-15 minutes at a time. I tried to give her some food to call her closer, but when she opened her mouth she let out a cry.

I was able to load her into my car and take her to the nearest 24 hour animal hospital. They scanned for a microchip, but nothing was found. They couldn’t find anything wrong with her externally so we went home. She was too weak to get out of the car, and whenever I touched her she just whimpered or cried out. She slept in the car all night, and in the morning I was able to take her to a new animal hospital.

Sammy was brought in on a stretcher since she couldn’t walk on her own. They immediately started her on IV since she had not eaten or drank water since I found her (12 hours at this point). She was kept over night.

In the morning I met with the doctor and he didn’t have much hopes for her. He encouraged euthanasia as she was in a lot of pain, and her quality of life was not going to be well. She was on heavy medication, opioids, and she still didn’t show good signs.

As a dog mom myself, I felt defeated. I wanted to give Sammy the best chance to live a good life, but I also did not want her to suffer.

The X-rays showed an abnormal bone growth around her spine/near shoulder blades that could have been caused by trauma to the back. This is causing her a lot of pain to walk, lean forward, and to stand up. She walks with a hunch and often tilts her head to the side, just to be able to look up.

The doctor is waiting to hear back from a surgeon who can preform this type of surgery.

Since a surgery is yet not scheduled, I do not know how much it will cost. I’ve taken on her medical bills by myself, thanks to my income from views on my social platforms. It is estimated to be around 10-15k dollars, but again, it’s still not known.

For right now, Sammy just needs wet dog food which can be ordered from her Amazon wish list. Any kind is okay, and if you want to send her anything else you are welcome to do so.

Shes on 3 types of pain medications, an antibiotic, and dewormer. Shes been able to rest and shows good signs of a sweet gentle dog.

I Will add updates as I get them. For now, your prayers are truly needed.
