Support Sammy's Independence with a New Walker
Donation protected
Hi yall!
As most of you know, my little brother Sammy suffers from a condition called sca8 also known as cerebellar ataxia. This condition affects his mobility, as well as his speech. As he tries to maneuver through his daily life, he requires a walker to get around. He has multiple Dr visits and goes to physical therapy every week. In addition to his ataxia, he also suffers with central pontine myelinolysis, a rare, non-inflammatory neurological disorder that damages the myelin sheath and nerve cells in the brainstem's pons.
As of now there is no cure for his condition, and we want to make sure he is able to get around as easily as possible.
After attending physical therapy, his therapist recommended a zeen walker. This walker is a hybrid mobility device with a strap for his waist and will help him walk more upright and freely while also preventing falling.
Unfortunately his insurance will not cover this and we’re hoping for any assistance in getting this for him. Sammy is one of the most caring and generous people I know, and if there is any way we can make life easier for him, we want to try. This walker will give him more independence which he very well deserves. Your help will be very much appreciated!
