Update on Sammy Jo: Aside from encountering some minor issues, Sammy Jo has been making a remarkable recovery, and we're incredibly grateful for her happy and healed heart. This experience has been overwhelming, but we truly value the immense love and support we've received from many of you near and far. We feel incredibly humbled and are thankful for everyone who has stood by us and continues to reach out. Thank you for being a part of Sammy Jo's journey and for uplifting her spirits with your kindness.
We typically prefer to offer help rather than seek it out ourselves. However, we would be grateful if you could help share Sammy Jo's story or consider a small donation, as we still need help with her medical bills. We understand everyone is facing challenges, but any contribution would be appreciated as we work to regain stability.
Your support has been the ultimate blessing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Dear Friends, Family and Kind Supporters,
I want to share some heartfelt news about Sammy Jo and what our family has been navigating over the past year. She has faced some health challenges and was recently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, a hole in her heart. This condition has resulted in decreased heart function and an enlarged heart, worsening her situation. After an echocardiogram and consultations with several thoracic surgeons, we were faced with the heartbreaking reality that Sammy Jo urgently needed open-heart surgery to close the hole in her heart. Following a lengthy but successful surgery and five days in the ICU, she is now home and focused on her recovery.
However, the financial strain of her medical expenses has been overwhelming for us. To help ease this financial burden and allow us to focus on her recovery, I am launching a GoFundMe to cover some of her surgery costs, physical therapy, ongoing appointments, and support during this challenging time of lost income.
We decided to reach out and try this, hoping for some support along this journey.
We are truly grateful for any kindness and support extended to our family during this time. We encourage everyone to never skip the doctor. If something feels off, please get it checked out! We did, and we’re so glad we acted when we did!
Thank you for standing by Sammy Jo on her journey to recovery!
With gratitude,
The Barnhart Family
