I am starting this fundraiser for Sammy (Sammich Sando on Facebook). He just tragically lost his mom. Sammy lives in Texas, and his mom lived in a very rural area of Ohio alone. When he didn't hear back from her, he called in a welfare check, and they found that she had passed a couple of weeks prior. Her dogs starved to death, which just adds to the tragedy. Sammy will need to travel to Ohio and navigate the whole process of final life care, especially legal matters, cleaning out her house, and managing the entire estate. Taking time off work and a lot of unexpected expenses that no one could be prepared for.

He just moved and got a new place, so his savings were tapped into deeply. He will need to travel and take time off work for an unknown amount of time. Sammy is always there for his friends and never expects anything in return. I love seeing him make everyone laugh online, and at least everyone has had their shittiest days brightened up with his ridiculously funny videos and pics at some point. It sometimes makes it feel like he didn't move so far away.

Any little bit will definitely add up to cover the unexpected expenses in the middle of the holiday season, being so far away from her place. It's hard enough to deal with such a loss; everything else involved just adds to it. His wonderful girlfriend has been navigating this whole process for him and they are learning what's next as they go along.
