Support Sami's Battle Against Lymphoma

Hi All,

It was just a few months ago that my daughter Sami graduated from high school and next week, she was supposed to start as a freshman at University. However, just as Sami was getting ready to start school, she had fallen ill. After being rushed to the ER and several tests (blood tests, pet scans, skin and lymph node biopsies), she was diagnosed with rare form of lymphoma.

As you can imagine, this is a traumatic moment for all of us, but most especially for Sami. She unfortunately won't be able to start school this quarter as planned as college will have to be put on hold for now as she will continue treatment for at least the next few months.

Sami is still in the hospital and just started her treatment, which is a form of chemotherapy which is not commonly used and even required special approval by the hospital management as it's apparently a very expensive type of treatment. As mentioned, she will be going through this for the next few months and the subsequent treatment will depend on how she responds to this initial chemo. As such, we (her mother, sister and myself) are making life changes of our own to be closer to Sami to support her during this most difficult time in her life.

No parent can ever imagine to have to say the words that my child has cancer but I recently found myself in that situation. Sami has demonstrated courage and strength but there are days where it's tough for her and those are the ones that are the toughest for us.

And we'd like to thank you in advance to those who have donated to this Go Fund Me for Sami to help defray some of the medical expenses and associated costs with this life-changing event. But most of all, I ask that you all keep Sami in your prayers as she navigates through the life challenges to come.
