Support Samir's Path to Priesthood in the ICKSP

Glory to Jesus Christ! My name is Samir Matin (on the left), and this year I was accepted for my first year of candidacy into the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest.

I would like to share with you my brief testimony, which I think is best summarized by St. Augustine: "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you." Like many young men, I had drifted from my faith. I was putting my hopes and desires into the things of the world, but the Good Lord had other plans. In my late teenage years, I began finding my faith, and in December of 2023, I received the call from the Father to be conformed to the image of His Son in the path to priesthood.

The priest standing to the right of me, Fr. Nathanael Anderson, introduced me to the Traditional Latin Mass, and I felt the mysteries of the faith unfolding before my very eyes. I was especially touched by how the Lord Jesus truly is present on the altar at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and how the Lord renews the mysteries of Calvary in front of our very eyes. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be Christ Jesus to others.

By the grace of the Holy Ghost, I discovered the Institute through many different people and was immediately drawn by the Salesian spirituality and the deep love for living water that flows from the altar.

This past year, I had the privilege of being a volunteer missionary at the Newman Center at Oregon State University, and before that, I had spent some time in Belize on mission. These experiences only confirmed my call to be conformed to the Sacred Heart of Christ, and by your generosity in financial support and prayers, I hope to pursue my path to priesthood.
