My name is Hailey Ford, and I’ve been friends with Sameh Alsekliy, a young man living in Gaza, for almost a year. Sameh’s family of 7 lives in a tent, often going without food for days. Now, they are facing an even more urgent crisis — Sameh’s father has diabetes, chronic chest inflammation, and has just been diagnosed with a dangerous blood clot in his heart. Without immediate surgery, his life is at serious risk.

The procedure costs $2,000 USD, but with the high demand for medical care in Gaza and the possibility of unexpected pre- and post-surgery needs, we’ve set our goal at $5,000. This will ensure Sameh’s father gets the care he needs before and after surgery.
