I am Joy in Boston. For nearly two years I had been helping my friend, Sameer, by raising survival funds for his family. On September 7, 2025, he was shot and killed by occupation snipers. I had the honor of speaking to him almost every day in that 23 months. All of your donations, minus requisite commission on their end (I pay the transaction fees), go to the surviving members of his family: Rawida, his mother, Manal (26) (and her infant and two year old they care for), Noor (21), Wissam (13), Scheherazade (8), and Ahmed (6). They lost everything they had during the war when their tent and belongings were bombed. They managed to survive, but needed a new tent, clothing, and food, with commission. They reached this amount, bought a tent, and it was bombed again. 

They have been displaced ten times.

Aid is dangerous to access or not available. They can get food and supplies in the markets with our donations. Mutual aid is not charity; it is material solidarity.

All proceeds go to Sameer’s family via PayPal or Binance (no fees) to his sister, Noor, or his best friend, Ehab. I have been unable to add photos to updates to post the receipts of these transfers. I am in regular touch with both of them.

Sameer was so loved. And loving. 

He strove to keep the children engaged and entertained. He worried about their loss of education. 

He carried the water, dug the plumbing, and rocked the babies. Who will take care of his loved ones now? 

Supporting his family is defiance in the face of a world that treats his life as worth less than yours.
