Support Samantha's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My daughter, Samantha, who is 34 yrs old, went in to the ER @ Kettering in Springfield on April 4, 2024 because of back pain and body pain due to a fall backwards. They sent her to Kettering Soin to have some MRIs done. Once she got to Soin they decided to do a test on her gallbladder for some reason and decided that it needed to come out. They did her surgery the next day. By the next morning when she woke up she could no longer move her body, she could not feel her legs, and she could no longer control her arms or hands. They decided to send her to Kettering's Main Campus, and since then they have run every test that they can think of. Her liver stopped functioning correctly and her body began to fill with fluid. She has had to have a parasentesis done, and they may have to do another one on Monday to continue to remove fluid off her abdomen.
They told us that they can not find anything that is wrong and they are sending her to a Nursing Facility for rehab and wishing us luck! Since being in the hospital she has had no PT or OT until 4 days ago (leaving her laying in a bed for a month, without movement) this has caused her right foot to begin to turn inward and her left foot to turn outward and has shifted her hips. She is going to have a very long road to recovery. The hospital has been a 45 min drive one way everyday, along with parking fees daily, along with purchasing as many items as I can to assist her in doing our own therapy. We are unsure how long her stay will have to be at the Nursing Facility but they believe it is possible that it will be a few months. Samantha has 2 children that I am also taking care of. This has been VERY difficult on them as well. Making meals, driving, getting the kids were they need to be daily has become very overwhelming and expensive.
We would be so grateful for any assistance or help that you can provide. We would also be very grateful for all of the prayers that you could make on our behalf.
Thank you and God Bless each of you.
