Hello, My name is Samantha, and currently I am facing an unexpected and direly urgent medical challenge. What started out as thinking I just needed a change in birth control turned into a living nightmare.
I currently am dealing with a right ovary that is: 22cm x 15.1cm x 22cm
(8.6in x 5.9in x 8.6in) That has caused me pain and extreme fatigue.
My left ovary has also developed a 4.2cm x 3.1cm x 3.4cm complex cyst also. So I am terrified if I do not get this surgery immediately, I will wind up losing any future abilities to have a child, or learning too late that it is malignant.
11-4-2025: I learned from my OBGYN that I had an unusually hard stomach, and my unexplainable weight gain in that area needed to be checked.
11-13-25: I got immediately referred to a Gynecologist -Oncologist due to my ultrasound at the OBGYN revealing a complex giant ovarian cyst. (Costed $300+ with insurance)
11-25-25 I learn that this 22cm x 22cm complex giant ovarian cyst that needs to be removed as soon as possible due to it affecting my quality of life. The only way to determine if the cyst is cancerous is through an open abdominal approach Salphingo-Oophorectomy surgery and subsequent pathology once the cyst is removed.
The surgery is scheduled for December 8th. Unfortunately, I was only given a few days’ notice since around December 2nd about the cost of the surgery, and I am unable to afford the deductible required to move forward.
This diagnosis has completely upended my life since then. The massive growth has made it impossible for me to work, and I am struggling with the physical and emotional side effects every day. I have already spent my entire savings on a CT scan and ultrasound, and despite having insurance, I am at a financial deficit. I have tried every avenue for financial assistance—Curae denied my application, and Piedmont was unable to help beyond forwarding my case to the CFO.
Without the funds, I will have to reschedule my surgery, which puts my health and future at risk. And even then, post recovery I will still have medical debt I need to take care of.
I am already losing my entire right ovary in this procedure, and I am terrified if I wait any longer I will
Receiving any type of help would mean everything to me. It would allow me to get the surgery I need, find out if the cyst is cancerous, and begin my recovery so I can return to work and live a full life. Any donation, no matter the amount, would help me move forward during this difficult time, and ensure I get and pay off said surgery. Thank you for considering a contribution and for your kindness.
This entire experience has been very hard for me, and I just want to feel like a normal woman again & pay off my medical expenses :(
My minimum payment I can make on surgery is $1000, but the total cost of surgery is $2000. Even a little money will help me get this giant cyst removed, and my life back on track.
