Samantha was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in June of 2023. Treatment hasn't been successful (12+ rounds of different chemotherapy and surgery).

Samantha Sue Slagel (Dietz), age 31 of Okemos, MI, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, January 19, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born to David and Tammy Dietz (Reynolds) in Lansing, MI, on July 4, 1993.

Samantha studied phlebotomy at LCC and graduated from the University of Michigan Flint with her BSN, then went on to work for several years as a Phlebotomist in the NICU at Sparrow Hospital. Outside of work, she enjoyed bowling, baking, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Slagel, and their children, Alia, Adalynn, and Abraham.

A celebration of life is planned for Samantha at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Eldorado Event Center located at 5206 S Cedar St. in Lansing, MI.
