Help Samantha Kilgore Beat Leukemia and Get Back Home to Her Family

In an instant, everything changed.

At the end of May, Samantha Kilgore—devoted wife and mom of two—was unexpectedly diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) in a rare and aggressive lymphoblastic blast phase. Without any symptoms, the news came as a devastating shock to her and everyone who loves her.

Since May 29, Samantha has been hospitalized, fighting this fast-moving cancer with multiple types of chemotherapy and targeted drug therapies. Her battle is far from over.

Doctors are working toward a bone marrow transplant—a difficult and high-risk process that offers the best chance at survival. Without it, Samantha’s odds are just 20-30%. With it, she has a 70% chance of beating this disease and returning to her family.

But this road is long and exhausting.

The transplant will require more intense chemotherapy and radiation, followed by a six-week hospital stay and three months of around-the-clock care at home. She’ll need help with daily tasks, frequent clinic visits, and constant monitoring for complications.

While Samantha fights for her life in Minnesota, her children are in Missouri, staying with family for the summer. But school will start soon—and the family will need stability. Their oldest child has special support needs that make outside caregiving nearly impossible. Samantha’s husband, Justin, will need to step back from work to care for their children and be present during her recovery. The financial burden is simply too much to bear alone.
