Hi everyone,

My name is Mel, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my wonderful friend of over 20 years, Samantha Fordham (Shannahan), because she would never ask for this herself.

Last week Samantha, at just 36 years old, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat forms of breast cancer. She will be undergoing intensive chemotherapy and immunotherapy for twelve months minimum prior to having surgery, along with countless scans, tests and medical appointments.

For someone so healthy, active, and the primary carer of two young children, this has turned Sam’s world upside down.

Sam and her family now face significant practical and financial pressures including loss of income having to close her business, out-of-pocket medial expenses and the need for extra childcare and home help.

We’re raising funds to provide support and stability to Sam, Shane and the kids during this incredibly challenging time, so Sam can undergo treatment, heal and focus on recovery. She deserves to be able to fight for her life without the added burden of shame, stress or long-term emotional trauma around finances.

Anyone who knows Sam knows her strength, kindness and love for her family. Every bit of love and support means more than words can express.
