Hello, my name is Megan Callahan, I have created this account for my best friend Samantha Price. I would first like to take the opportunity to thank everyone in advance for their donations, sharing of the GoFundMe account, and positive thoughts and prayers of healing for our beloved Samantha.

If you are looking for a sign to help someone or pay it forward, then this is it. Samantha has a heart of gold and always shows up for a friend in need... Well now you our friend is in need.

Here is Samantha's story...

Samantha is a devoted mother to two amazing kids. She is a single mom that literally does it all on her own. She rarely asks anyone for help because she has always "been the help" even on her last leg. Like many others she too was effected by the COVID-19 virus and the impact it had on her employment. The only difference for her is she is not only the sole provider for her two young children, but she only cares with her mother who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

Everyday has been an uphill battle between keeping a roof over their heads, food on the table, and chauffeuring everyone to sports, school, or doctors appointments. Did I mention that she too is a college student? Struggling to fight for a better life for her family.

On top of all the daily struggles with getting her kids where they need to be, being a part of the board for their sports, and providing; she is dealing with the daily confusion mixed with fear from her mother's Alzheimer's disease. Going to school, working a full-time job, and driving for Lyft between all of that, she has now been struck with tragedy.

The Dr. found a tumor in her lungs. We were hoping for the best and we still are. This tumor has turned out to be cancerous. We are now in the process of finding out if it has spread, and if so how much?

She had emergency surgery and is now fighting to get better so she can come home while fighting to keep her family above water. Samantha came home for one day and then had to be rushed back to the hospital in excruciating pain. She is once again in a hospital bed away from her children and mother. The burden has become too much for her to bare alone.

She needs our help!

Samantha is unable to work because she is recovering from a fight that has barely begun. She does not have any sick leave because she just finally found a job through the COVID struggle and since she is a new employee, she does not qualify for temporary disability through EDD. She also cannot receive unemployment since she is too sick to work.

Samantha is a mother, a daughter, a student, a full-time employee, an occasional Lyft driver, a board member for her children's sports, a friend and a fighter! Please help her and her family in any way you can. She is always the first one to step up to help, now she needs us to step up and help her.
