On Saturday, during a hard-fought game against Slade Point, our teammate and friend Sam Varley suffered a serious spinal injury, where he has fractured his L1 and L2 vertebrae. He now faces a long and difficult road to recovery, with months of medical treatment, rehabilitation, and time away from work ahead.

To make things even more challenging, Sam and his partner are expecting their first child in the coming months. What should be a joyful time is now filled with stress and uncertainty.
