Support Sam Rudolf and His Family During This Difficult Time

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts to share the news about our dear friend and colleague, Sam Rudolf. Sam has been a dedicated and passionate engineer with Hillrom/Baxter for 24 years, contributing significantly to the design and safety of Hillrom and Baxter devices. His commitment to ensuring that our devices meet the highest codes and standards has touched the lives of countless people.

Before joining us, Sam proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was deployed to Afghanistan and Guatemala. His sense of duty, discipline, and dedication has always shone through in his work and in his life.

Recently, Sam was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, Sam's health has unfortunately declined, and he is no longer able to continue his work at Baxter. His wife, Karen, has been by his side every step of the way, taking extended time off from her job to care for Sam and take him to his numerous medical appointments.

As you can imagine, the financial burden of Sam's treatments and Karen's unpaid leave has placed a tremendous strain on their family. Additionally, Karen now has to cover her own health benefits out of pocket, adding to the already mounting expenses. Their son, Alex, who is only 9 years old, is also struggling to come to terms with the reality of losing his beloved father.

We are setting a goal of $20,000 to help alleviate the unexpected healthcare costs and to support Alex as he adjusts emotionally to life after his dad. This fund will go directly to:

1. Covering the cost of Karen's health benefits during this difficult time.

2. Assisting with medical bills and ongoing care for Sam

3. Providing emotional support resources for Alex as he navigates this challenging period

Sam has always been the first to offer help and lend a hand, both in his professional life and during his service to our country. Now it's our turn to support him and his family. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and show Sam, Karen, and Alex that they are not alone in this journey.
